2015 Culture and Diversity

The theme i plan to use is one of varying colors and ideas. We wont stick with the same design and background for the entire yearbook. The layouts should be different and the feel from each page should represent, to the best of its ability, different cultures ranging from American all the way to Japanese. No culture should be left out. I think this theme would make a majority of the student body happy. In order to do this, students should submit ideas and concepts, maybe even drawings, of what they want to be on the pages. We will then gather and group together similar ideas onto pages to compile a diverse and aesthetically pleasing yearbook.
I like this top image the most because the contrasting colors create a sense of fighting sides. The balance between chaos and cramming students do between tests and the relaxed state from grades that are posted or the moment of relief students feel.

I think this design works well because it uses words to describe an object while representing the image at the same time.

I like this design because it creates the sense that when you open it, it will let you relive the moments that had passed you by too quickly in the moment. This give a sense of security knowing your memories will always be captured.

Steve Johnson

I liked the TED talk that we watched because it is true. Good ideas do not come from the isolation of an individual most o f the time. Good ideas appear from individuals collaborating and sometimes just talking trash to each other. I think he is right that coffee shops are a boost to innovation.

Experience making Film

I had a great time working in my group for this final video. The most difficult part was the amount of time we were allotted. We had so many different ideas but did not have the proper amount of time to fulfill them all to our expectations. The best part of filming in a group is the fun that we had. Although our video only contained a small blooper at the end, we have a vast amount of outtakes.

The Gap

I understand what he talks about when he discusses the gap between art that is mediocre and disappointing, to the art that astonishes and is everything you want it to be. Right now I am currently in this stage. My art work is mediocre and is slightly disappointing. I think every artist or creative minded person needs to see this video. I don't care if they are already accomplished or not, they will be able to relate to this struggle in their career and help others to continue as well.
