Steve Johnson

I liked the TED talk that we watched because it is true. Good ideas do not come from the isolation of an individual most o f the time. Good ideas appear from individuals collaborating and sometimes just talking trash to each other. I think he is right that coffee shops are a boost to innovation.

Experience making Film

I had a great time working in my group for this final video. The most difficult part was the amount of time we were allotted. We had so many different ideas but did not have the proper amount of time to fulfill them all to our expectations. The best part of filming in a group is the fun that we had. Although our video only contained a small blooper at the end, we have a vast amount of outtakes.

The Gap

I understand what he talks about when he discusses the gap between art that is mediocre and disappointing, to the art that astonishes and is everything you want it to be. Right now I am currently in this stage. My art work is mediocre and is slightly disappointing. I think every artist or creative minded person needs to see this video. I don't care if they are already accomplished or not, they will be able to relate to this struggle in their career and help others to continue as well.

Onward to the Edge

I found the video to be interesting. I already knew of this video though because I have seen the one called, "We Are All Connected". I find them useful because it becomes a rhythm in your head that becomes very easy to understand and remember.

Green Screen Editing

The most challenging part about using green screen would probably be trying to eliminate the green screen completely from the video. Also keeping my transitions in there. I discovered (at the last minute) that once you move he video around, it disregarded the transitions that I placed. The easiest part would have to be creating the sequence and sizing the videos or image to be large enough for the film. The most surprising part about working with green screen would have to be the fact that it can be used to place anything in the background, from images, to other videos.

My Video

I will film it using my phone and plan to do a close up recording for my video until near the end. At the end I plan to do a wide angle. This applies only if I am able to get my friend to assist in my video. I will be recording it at work this weekend when I am on break. I am going to get my boss's son to perform the steps while I film it.

Video Editing

What I learned about video editing is how to create smooth transitions, include music, and how to create text during a slide.I found creating a fade on the music would be the hardest. If you do not have the line in the correct spot, it will be silent or not sound like you want it to. The easiest would be shortening or extending a slide of media.

Story Board

6 Feet Under

I understand that not all work is done in the moment or all in digital from. It is made by making sketches. Not just one sketch or idea either. Multiple ideas with multiple possibilities. Sketches are the brainstorming aspect to an idea. A rough draft if you would. This is what is a baseline for a final product and is essential to creating a great end product.

Indiviual Web Idea

I plan to do a "How to" video and think I am going to create it over these three topics.
1. Crazy Legs on Skates
2. Performing a Lob in tennis
3. Easy Pranks

Web Unit Feedback

The most challenging part about our web unit would have to be when we had created our website. The process of having correct scripting in the intended place and in the correct style. The easiest part however was adding the actual content into the web page and saving it in one central location with outside links. The most rewarding part about the unit was the completion of our website. I was very excited to see that I had created a functional website. It is the happiest I have been in any class here. I will continue to improve my web skills. I have already planned to take digital imaging and software based courses.

Cool Robots

Id make a robot that would grab the remote for paralyzed people and to assist in difficult task such as entering the closet to get clothes. This would help paralyzed people to live every day lives without such a hassle an struggle to feel the same.

Video Comment

I don't think Happy Birthday should be copyrighted. Happy Birthday is a song that gets sung annually in every household, unless unspoken of in such home, for the celebration of another year alive. Its not just fun and games, but a way of celebrating being alive for another year on the Earth.

I would definitely get a self driving car so I could take naps and do other things while on my way to places. It would help cut down on time spent driving and allow time for other tasks such as studying, homework, emailing a friend. It seems like it would help relieve some stress from your life.

Sight

How It Feels Through Google Glass/Sight
Google glass is our advancement towards a daily and hourly dependence on technology. I believe the video "sight" portrays that very well. It shows how easily machines and technology can be manipulated to use for others' benefit. In the beginning it shows him having a TV and artwork hanging in his home. However, later on in the video, you begin to realize they are all visual placements on his contacts. I also think this is a bad idea to let technology control functions of our body because it can easily be manipulated and used by others. Just imagine what other countries would do if the could control other humans.

Walking on Air

I think the video was very amazing and shows how advanced technology has gotten. This gives me a slight idea of what the earth looks like and how the human race has made an impact on it. All the different lights, changes in territory. The storms have also shown me how beautiful nature is, but also how devastating it can be.

I Made 2 Things in CSS

As we began experimenting and messing around with CSS, we created two different objects. THis first we made was just a basic CSS model and not very much effort was placed into it. The second however is a CSS box model. I had changed both the frame color and inner color to orange and green. I enjoyed the second one much more. I found it possible to do more things with it.

I made a website

I made my first website today in IMED. It took me a while to get used to it and to save it correctly but it worked!

Respones to Videos

An IP address is the identifying number for anything connected to the internet ranging from a computer to a printer. Therefore simplifying locating different objects around the world from the network. The statistic that surprised me the most was the one referring to the amount of video uploads to YouTube. I would have understood if there were that many views but the upload amount just blew my mind. I thought the last video was fairly funny to see. I don't think I would change what I do on the internet. I only order things online and even then I never send it to my home address. I found it pretty interesting that they found that much information just by searching the web. Down to the amount someone had spent on clothing. The last comment I wish to make was about the first video. In the video they said some of the servers and computers we connect to may not even be in the same country as us. I think it is amazing how fast the information is sent across the internet.

Possible Web Ideas

My first idea for my website theme would be pertaining to my senior capstone project, but I have decided that since I am unaware of what I wish to do one hundred percent, it would be better to steer away from it. My next idea would be about possible tattoo ideas for people. I would upload designs that I find and designs that I make to help unsure people get a tattoo that they will cherish forever. Or until they want it removed. My last idea would be a directory to possible amusement parks and places of entertainment for couples and families unnsure of what they wish to do on "Family Night".

Web 2.0

I thought the video made people sound very paranoid to do anything with the web that we have created. The video makes me think that we need to simplify the web. This will however cause a lack in growth. I do have a slight understanding in web 1.0 though. Web 1.0 is what most people think of as a dinosaur computer. This was one of the first developments into the computer. There was no side scrolling or viewing things. Only retrieving and entering data. Web 2.0 seems like an earlier version of what we are using now. Its seems like a manual use of the web with limited freedom and creation. Although at the time it seemed like the best creation of its' time. Web 3.0 is what most people are afraid of in the future movies. It is a term that people have used to summarize the growth of cyberspace intelligence. The growth of learning technology and adapting to the situation as it arises.

My IMED Course

This is the first time I am posting in my blog during my fall IMED course. Wish me luck this semester!

Favorite Part of Class

Although it was the project I had the most difficulties with, my favorite by far was the Stop Motion film that we had made in class because I love stop motion movies.

Animation Gif

I made my first gif today in our last class. It was so much fun but a little time consuming. I don't see how so many people do this on a daily basis.

Stop Motion Skittles

In class we created a 7 second long stop motion film using skittles and a camera. The whole setting up and process took us a little over a half hour and this is what we produced.

How many people ready to rock out?-Gorillaz

This is my album cover that I had created for my Photshop today. We have created Shaved Cherry and I used my favorite Gorillaz album cover as my inspiration for this. I left a half inch for extra room just in case I need to cut it to fit something else. I think it turned out well but I wish I had a different picture of Tia so the chair wouldn't have to be in this.

Rise of the Shaved Cherry

Genre: Reggae
Band Name: Shaved Cherry
Band Members: Tia Sarbinska, Griffen Witzel, Daniela Reyes, Ahmed Jawed

Trying Out Filters

After looking through a good amount of filters and putting two together I have made this neon glow frog with a texturized brush stroke in Photoshop. I enjoy the product that I made and love how it turned out.

My masterpiece

I enjoyed doing the brushes today more than the touch ups. I made this using a grass brush, a dotted brush, and multiple bristle brushes.

Amazing Workout

This guy got onto the Photoshop workout plan and look at how much he didn't actually lose. But he looks like he did. I also accidentally made it look like he lost his leg to some machine mishap.

Makeover

I have set a before and after picture of this lady. I think her eyes in the after picture look slightly cartoon like because of the white sparkle in them. I should make them smaller or change the opacity a little bit.

New Froggy

I enjoyed cropping this frog out of his original picture but feel like his edges are still sharp to look at. This project was very fun and we are going to make a picture of a fat man turn skinny like the videos we watched. Cant wait!

Chilling with my family

I have finally learned how to edit myself out of a photo and how to seamlessly (almost) add it to another. Now I have joined a noble family for a day. I posted myself in this picture because the man I overlapped was facing in the same direction I was and have always wanted to wear a crown.

My be the change

While using the black and white color adjustments, I was able to create these awesome picture with a phrase I have found to be my inspiration for a couple of years. Today rocks. Ill upload my next project soon.

Chilling with the dogs!

I made a new billboard in my Photoshop introductory course today. I had used so many tools such as the lasso tool, bevel and emboss, transform and many more. I haven't even started in the black and white picture yet and all that is involved in that work.

ITS ALIVE

I used liquify to warp my dog into a monster of space and used different filters to turn the happy (now sad) dog negative and to fade out the dog with the shades. Although the previous copy showed different animals, I hid them using the eye icon next to the layer.

Photoshop

My first attempt at using Photoshop. I think it turned out well. I used hue/saturation and the quick select tool to make it look so awesome. I tried to get ahead of the lecture but messed up and deleted the lollipops. Good thing she already showed us how to undo previous actions with the history tab. I wonder if we could change the red tint on the stick to become the same color as the flavors.

1st Blog

My first day back. It has set off in a good direction and my IMED teacher is pretty chill.
